"Disk of Dust is a manifestation of all my favorite science fiction films, books, & soundtracks. Vangelis scores the dark and moody futurescapes, while M83 inspires dreamy nostalgia & wonder of what used to be. The Foundation, Asimov, hard sci-fi - I envision this sort of literature would be accompanied by hot & cold stabs, warm synthscapes, & long draws. No sound in space, but space in sound.
This album tells the story of a “human” from another planet who visits our own “pale blue dot”. What would it be like if you left a planet you no longer loved only to find a planet exactly like the one you left? Would you keep searching? Or would you call this your new home?"

I liked Desired's self-titled release very much, so had to get "Lovestory" as well, its style feels the closest. Desired must be a fan of the 80ies "Cat's Eye" anime, as tracks 1 and 8 are from its soundtrack.
